August James

Born on September 24, 1998, August James Domanchuk is an electrifying lead guitarist, soulful vocalist, and dedicated songwriter carving his path in the music world. From an early age, his deep connection with the blues set him apart, nurtured through his time at The Fernando Jones Blues Kids Camp at Columbia College in Chicago. That foundation opened doors to incredible opportunities—from playing for the Mayor of Chicago to performing for the spouses of the dignitaries at the NATO Summit luncheon in 2012.

August's talent and passion for music have placed him on some of the most iconic stages. He was chosen to perform at Buddy Guy's Lifetime Achievement Award ceremony. As a teenager, he twice earned his way to the Youth International Blues Challenge in Memphis, playing legendary venues like B.B. King's and Hard Rock Café on Beale Street. His journey has taken him from the Chicago Blues Fest to the Vans Warped Tour in California with The Chase Walker Band.

August has shared the stage with blues and rock greats throughout his career, including Eddie Shaw, Jackie Scott, Lindsey Alexander, The Ivas John Band, and Jamiah Rogers. His high school band battled at the Illinois State Fair in Springfield, winning the Illinois State Battle of the Bands championship in 2014.

As an adult, August returned to his roots, mentoring young musicians at The Fernando Jones Chicago Blues Camp, where he taught blues fundamentals and helped musicians ask the question: What does it mean to command the stage? His influences span generations and genres, from Jimi Hendrix, Christone "Kingfish" Ingram, and Joe Bonamassa to Buddy Guy, Led Zeppelin, and Bob Dylan.

A Musician On A Mission, and a Musician gearing up to make waves, August thrives on writing music and sharing it with others. Whether he's blending blues, rock, funk, or soul, his performances ignite every stage he steps on. Currently, he's captivating audiences at local venues and events in the Chicago suburbs, but his sights are set on making a powerful return to the city's music scene.
